Speaking of biases, this minister(yes he is a minister) thinks this thing has a soul..... let that sink in for a bit. Another item for thought would be to consider this researcher is the only one putting his claim on that this thing is sentient. one researcher on a team of 200+ or so engineers and computer scientists. well spoken or not I think being fooled by a LLM / NLP doesn't make it sentient. Also note this is not the first LLM /NLP to pass the Turing test, but in those instances did we leap over the fence and claim sentience.. no. You know why? because the turing test doesn't test if its sentient or not. Just want to make sure people in the comments understand the facts before letting their imaginations run wild. Also know he did not get fired, he's on administrative leave. meaning he still collects checks from google.
