Some countries have policies to protect traditional job positions. For example, Japan effectively banned ride sharing to preserve the job of taxi drivers. The apps actually still work, but they call taxi drivers.
Jobs evaluated to gain only marginal efficiency, and which don't have to compete with global competitors, should be preserved for humans. Manufacturing would not fall under this. The efficiency gains are massive, and you have to compete with global competitors who will use AI and robotics to save money. When you look at the service industry on the other hand, a lot of jobs do not need to move to AI and robotics to be efficient or competitive.
