It's almost as if the current economic model where power is held by a larger than life entity like a corporation or the government has been swapped over for something far more alien and irreproachable i.e., an AI. It is a faceless and boundless entity which has zero ethical concerns about its overarching digital tentacles into every treasure chest and facet of life it can. As I was watching the video, I just realised that eventually trillion parameterized AI models will come up where even architectural elements, civil, mechanical and electrical design elements will be designed by these models in seconds. Although there's some respite there as these products are based on scientific principles it will still cannibalize various STEM fields to various degrees by the end of the decade. Just to look at this from the business perspective, as more and more time goes by, newer upcoming models with even more efficiently trained parameters on the exorbitant $20,000+ A100, H100 NVIDIA GPUs and what not, smaller and smaller nm node sizes by TSMC, Samsung etc., in order to recuperate the gargantuan amounts well into trillions of dollars sunk into the operational costs, to stay ahead of the curve and tap into this ever-growing deeper pool of wealth, big tech companies like Google, Microsoft etc. will double, triple and even quadruple down on this AI training technology until it becomes an existential threat to the businesses themselves. At that point, even they will not be able to predict which way things will go. It is indeed inevitable. It is both a boon and a curse but neither in disguise. The disciple will surpass the master in no time. It is only a matter of time.
