Former AI researcher here and a real artist (digital and starting with traditional). I left AI after they showed their true colors (pun intended). This video is an excellent summary of the AIBros "arguments".
AI is not inevitable, in fact, it's dying already. The investors will lose billions with this bubble, no AI company is profitable, and they will never be. Math and physics aren't on their side. Their dream of replacing everyone with robots and being the tech feudal lords will fail.
About the AI bros, they know that no one likes their slop. If they didn't, why would they try so hard to hide the fact that they used AI? They know that no one respects them for typing words in a box.
The AIBros will vomit lots of buzzwords, but every 'generative' AI model IS AN COMPRESSION ALGORITHM. I just copy what you feed to it. Not only this, but the models are already at their peak and they won't improve, and even if they did, their improvements could be used for poisoning data. Try looking for adversarial attacks.
In the end, the best think I did in my life was leaving AI. Found a better job, earning more and doing fewer hours. Even got more time to draw.
All we need to do to win is keep drawing. Never stop making art!!!
