Funny how much better the fakes look in just a year. Soon they will be indistinguishable. I think Ai will have a bigger problem trying to nail all the unique vocal and audio of each person's voice than the image but even Ai from a year ago was already fooling a certain segment of people. Lots of old people have been fooled by Ai for years now and I'm starting to see it among younger people and if they cannot tell they just assume it's Ai even if it's a real person. Kind of freaky. I don't know anyone outside of the industry that is very excited about how Ai will improve our lives or the world. It's too much power in the hands of too few with no real way of stopping it. Even if the US made legislation they could still do what they wanted behind close doors to engineer it and even if they stop engineering in the US there's a threat of China continuing. I really wish we could go back to life before Ai. I am not hopeful for our future as a species with Ai. It's already having profoundly negative impacts from making people dependent on Ai search for the smallest tasks or ponderings to untold millions "dating" Ai girlfriends or boyfriends. I already though the current model of adult content was bad with the popular site OF being a place people pay to see girls they grew up with or know sell their images and grow insanely wealthy while the job market is so dark for more and more who most need jobs. It's so many issues aside from Ai that are eroding the core of our humanity and sense of right and wrong that Ai seems like a vehicle to accelerate the erosion of the last vestiges of what makes us human.
