I think you are being a little short sighted. The thing with AI is that it automates automation. We're potentially at the bottom of a very steep rise, the top third might be safe for the next year or maybe even 10, but at some point soon there is a high chance it will surpass even the top 1%. Every "but it can't" is easily counted with a "yet". I fully expect to see something, in the not too distant future, where an AI writes code, that will have the top 1% scratching their heads for decades.
