Elected Democrats are going to have to speak louder than this money. Or… after winning office elected Democrats could just accept all the Silicon Valley donor money and do next to nothing except some small bore legislation with plenty of loopholes and call it a day. Elected Democrats are going to be as tough on wealthy Silicon Valley donors as they were on drone strikes, or mass surveillance, or Wall Street banks and resurrecting Glass Steagall, or stopping corporate consolidation in mergers and acquisitions, or ending runaway Inequality, or … fill in the blank. Elected Democrats would rather keep the current filibuster threshold and pantomime wringing their hands wishing they could do something while saying let’s slow down and focus on donor allowed mini reforms. If the Dems win the house and senate you get less insanity and endless boring process with little to show for it. But that’s all. Democrats are the status qou party not a fired up reform the oligarchy party. They will be as successful in h helping Americans with affordability issues as they were successful in limiting and reducing inflation during Biden’s 4 years.
