1) Who are you going to network with if all of the jobs are getting automated? Do they not realize this yet? That is going to become outdated advice pretty quickly- you can tell that no one giving this advice is under the age of 40. 2) Actually AI is best at replacing your so called management "creative" and "communication" roles. If you're a CEO or manager making 20 million to write "management's take on finances", buzzword emails, and those fake,happy company culture updates, why can't I just have AI do the same thing and pay it $240/yr? 3) If someone actually has fantastic generative AI skills, why would they ever want to go through your 5 round interview to get paid 40K? Why not create a competitor company that can cut into your profits and charge a fraction of the price for its product because we didn't hire a bunch of people who "networked" their way in to just sit there and tell others what to do? 4) If you are a young person reading this - yes, learn AI, and spend every single day working on it (I am doing this myself, focusing on machine learning). But please learn it so you can build your own company. Bring down Shopify, Salesforce, Adobe, Netflix, and every other SaaS out there charging too much money for their product. It's never been easier, less expensive, and less risky to try and build something in your life. Let's complete the race to the bottom for SaaS valuations. These companies don't deserve your talent or your mind. They won't hire you? Take revenge. Let's all learn AI to build cheaper products for each other.
