Decades ago we were promised a society of leisure - of working part-time with plenty of opportunities for hobbies, etc. They no longer talk about this. Instead, people have become useless eaters as AI can do better. Robots can work around the clock, don't get sick and don't need holidays. Humans cost too much, are no longer productive and make claims for rights of all kinds. A world war or pandemics can do the trick, and make selected people a lot of money.
