That's not a gotcha. AI being everyone's and not just private corporations would be amazing! Which is why there are so many open weights models. This is wanted by developers too.
But everyone here taking offense for the winners and losers comment need to check their bias at the door, because while it does sound bad it's just unfortunate phrasing and the point is correct: no matter what happens with the technology it'll be good for some and bad for others. In fact it'll be _enormously_ beneficial for everyone (which everyone misses...), though also enormously bad in other ways (which they don't miss).
But yes, let's all be winners!!
