Bro is just ranting. The AI artist clearly said he had to give iterative prompts. It's like trying to make art or an artistic piece like a sculpture or a model but instead of moving your paintbrush 5 centimeters using your own hands, you say it: hey automation tool can we adjust blah blah blah on this subject's this part. Then you see what it does and you choose one of the options and go forward adjusting more and more by giving it more prompts. Just cuz it is automated doesn't discredit the efforts. In fact, at times, it may take more efforts than picking up the paintbrush and doing it yourself than explaining the computer what you are imagining. It's like copyrighting/patenting a mechanism like say the Archimedes pump or Tesla valve. They obviously imagined it. Then went to the workshop and made it and perfected it in iterations. In case of AI, your computer is the workshop. No noise, no dust, no splinters, no dedicated space required, no wastage of materials. You sit there and perfect your invention/creation in front of the computer instead of sweating in the workshop. That may sound like less efforts but that is what ALL of us are doing. We are all automating things to reduce our efforts. They had patrol guards on castle walls. Now we have a control room with CCTV access and a single person can monitor everything while being seated in an airconditioned room. So should we pay him less because his efforts are reduced compared to actual patrolling? That's the feeling I get when considering patenting AI creations that were prompted by a human creator. Someone still invested organic efforts!
