Now, I think there is a niche for AI generated art, but there are definitely wrong ways to use it, if someone is using it to claim to be an artist themselves and trying to make money, then that's definitely wrong, and is clearly theft from a human by a human, also trying to make art specifically in an artist's style is wrong and a lot of generators already will not let you use the name of artists unless they are classic artists like Picasso, but I think the niche they can fill is for people with absolutely no drawing ability or talent who don't have the money or the time to wait for an original artwork to be made and checked and changed, and redone, and I'm fairly sure that artists don't appreciate clients who do that and say "it's not right, I want this" over and over, also if the person using the generator is doing it solely for a commercial free reason, personal project to put an image on that's not a big or really popular thing, however what Wizards of the Coast is doing doesn't fall in what's ok use for AI generation use, but major corporations are doing it anyway, and that's what is the theft of artists, cause that company could be paying a real artist to do the illustrations, and that I absolutely don't condone, now if there was an AI specifically set up by a united group of artists and partnered with an AI startup, and they get a part of profit for their contributed art being in the database and people must pay for generated images and the database is free of poisoning for only that AI, then I think it would be being used correctly, cause then people would have to use this AI cause the pictures don't turn out right on the others, but as for all the artists using things to poison the datasets gathered images, I fully support it, it's like someone watermarking their photos, but AI isn't gonna be stopped, but maybe there is a way to make it work for the artists and not against them.
