I am disabled, and have a tendency to get carpal tunnel just from writing/drawing for less than 20 minutes. But I do it because it is my passion. And using a keyboard or drawing pad is worse for me, due to the flexing and constant movements that my hands need to make in order to write, and the varying pressure and positions that my hand/arm has to remain in to get nice lines. Not to mention that generative ai just sucks all the creative aspects out of the process. I'd rather get carpal tunnel and have to put my project down for an hour or two to rest my hands, than write in a prompt and scroll through generated slop to find an image that I may or may not be happy with. Note: For anyone who's wondering, I have hyper mobile EDS. I have it easy to dislocate my shoulders, elbows, and fingers while I write/draw. That, by no means stops me from perusing my passions, regardless of the pain it brings me physically. These ai defenders have no right to speak for me, and all other disabled artists on what we are, and aren't capable of.
