The reason that music AI's are trained off of fair use music is because it takes less data to make more music in comparison to art. In an ideal world, fair use data would be the only data used, and that system works just fine for music. This is not in anyway down playing the work and dedication of music composers, it's just much simpilar for an AI to understand music in comparison to art. Instead of having to interpret the arrangement of pixel in an image, they would just have to interpret a set of frequencies for music. In summary, music is rarely stolen by AI's compared to art because of interpretability as well as required supply. It's a system of supply and demand.
