How do you have self worth if you are literally not valuable to anyone at all? Leaving people without an income. So without a government mandate that extends beyond cash economy as a measure of success, no objective is ever considered if it does not generate financial returns, with the impact on the population not considered at all. The way companies and countries maintain strong unity and support is with something which is aspirational such as 'freedom' or 'society'. But if you aren't seeing any likelihood of improving your livelihood, the foundations of the country will erode and law enforcement will become ever more hard line to contain the disaffected. Without the US government kerbing ai adoption with things such as tax or cost to the businesses, the purpose of the business is essentially lost. Where it existed to provide livelihoods initially, it's just kind of, there, now. The doors are locked with cameras an strong high fences and a building might not even be required. As companies become ever more hostile to human life, the architecture reflects that with glass, steel and concrete right angles the norm and no obvious concession to the street or humane level. Building are forts now where they maybe could be something offering shelter, they are claiming stakes and pronouncing their dominance.
