At its core Angel Engine rehashes the same quandary as "those who walk away from omelas" By Ursula K. Le Guin in which a society is prosperous and only experiences joy at the cost of torturing one individual of their society. The dichotomy of the individual being man or machine IS a representation of the artist's experiences in this case with one utilizing a machine to make the piece while the other drafted manually. Since the "AI" which created the images and audio may not be able to put forth its own experiences into the work, the author is obfuscating their own ideas. This experience difference between these creators manifests as an integral aspect of the Angel Engine story. It replaced the human sufferer for one of a machine which separates the viewer from this suffering and thus the message of Le Guin's work. This doesn't necessarily mean that the work is a plagiarism or of some inherent lesser value, but as a reader I cannot know how a machine can suffer but history knows well how humans suffer.
