It's no use! All this will do is just force AI companies to pay real artists for real art! That'll teach you greedy artists to stand against progress! /s That being said as someone who's game ideas always end at "well I can't draw the art I want to create the vision I want", I can't help but silently root for AI art generation. I know it's the less likely outcome between AI art failing completely or AI art replacing artists entirely but I kind of wish AI art could focus on merely producing functional (as in a hand that doesn't have 6 fingers) but lower quality art (which you could argue is already the case but I'd want it to be the explicit goal). Basically I want AI art to produce better engineering art than solid colored squares. Then if I can better see the vision and finances allowed, I'd want to hire an artist to replace that engineering art. ALSO that is how some people use AI (to generate "bespoke" memes). In particular I'm thinking about Cheeseball the Wizard Cat.
