What AI replaces is when people just need functionality, so alot of oddjobs for designers and artists would probably dissapear or reqire much less, but i don't think people like Team cherry or Toby Fox will start using AI - because their trade is authentic art, that's what people come to them to buy. Problem is - artist IS a luxury job. Not in a sense it being an easy one to do, but in a sense that unless people so in love with your work that they can't imagine living without it, wich is like 0.0001% of artist in the world, Pareto distribution and all that, - people would not cry for most artists loosing their job. Art is essential as a whole, most artists specifically are not, unless proven otherwise. And you can try to prove it on your own by going indie (wich to a point this channel is doing), but most people will crash and burn and go put fryes in the bag, unfortunately. Because if anything we overproducing media in this particular point in time. Steam releases more games each year and that trend is long before the AI, as a person who plays alot of sub 200 reviews indie games - i see it, it becomes harder and harder to keep an eye on everything. Too much of everything, most people don't have time or strenth to engage with all of that, but behind each of piece of media is people, trying to make it as artists, we don't need that many artists, but the problem is that you can't tell anybody specifically that they shouldn't be one, since maybe they are new Toby Fox/etc. AI art is functionality. AI memes can be funny IF the idea is funny, we laught at the concept not marvel at the art/animation. But for an actual enjoyment we need authenticity. But that also true even for non-AI hight quality slop like Ubisoft games or things like that. But i can see how a tech-minded person is more insterested in AI as a technology, just as some people more intrerested how much polygons and RTX-lighting the new game has instead of actual artistry behind it.
