We really need to stop calling LLMs "AI". They are NOT intelligent. They have NO intelligence. They are Markov chains turned up to eleventy. They can process and respond to input a la Searle's Chinese room, but they don't actually have any understanding of what they're processing. Unfortunately enough of us WANT TO BELIEVE that they are intelligent that every time we see them faceplant, we basically dismiss it and say, "Oh, that doesn't count, that doesn't matter, I just need to refine my prompt a bit better." If they were actually intelligent, they would be able to spot the errors and omissions in your prompt FOR THEMSELVES and ask you whether that's really what you meant.
