I always thought that "derivative" is a huuuge negative disqualifier for art. Art is hard, not being derivative is hard. Sure you can't truly create completely novel art if you've ever seen any art and are aware of any established "art language" - navigating this tension while expressing yourself is the way artists are made. The upbeat take here for every artist whose art has been critiqued as entirely derivative... You weren't. Only an AI prompter can truly create something that is ENTIRELY derivative.
