I think the only thing i would ever use ai art for is an online DND game. You need a LOT of art for a roll20 dnd game, and ai art would be the only way that i, a non artist, could have custom images and enough different images to fill out all the monsters, towns, npcs, and items. There's a lot of at out there yes, but scrounging through hundreds of pages of art to find a dark swamp town with no sun and i need 36 different towns that fit that setting. I tried just using art i find, but it was never enough. I never filled out all the towns or NPCs, had to reuse a lot of monsters to fit the setting but couldn't find enough to make every type of monster visually unique. So, I'm not profiting off it and never would, it's just so I can spend less time scrounging for art, and more time writing and designing the hexcrawl.
