Re: "Using AI is a practical choice and not an ideological one," let's set aside that they're not quite using "ideological" right. I get what they're going for. And my answer is "Yeah, duh." Practicality is about doing what's most efficient or convenient, getting results with the least energy. Acting according to your values and convictions often *opposes* efficiency, because the "practical" choice often isn't ethical. But these guys are sort of implying that using AI is not only ethical, it can itself be a righteous action, a form of protest. ROLLING MY EYES. What are you protesting against? The fact that people don't like your laziness and exploitation? Well, they're right! Your "protest" is better known by a different name: a TANTRUM. Our ruthlessness-worshiping profit-obsessed culture has ruined our sense of what is good and neutral by rewarding heinous behavior as long as it results in more value per minute spent. "The practical choice" are cowards' words. You just don't want people to contemn you for your laziness and mediocrity. And I'm sure that sweet, sweet ProWritingAid money is a factor, as well.
