This isn't the first autonomous car fatality. An autonomous Tesla hit the broad side of a tractor trailer (rather large object) killing the driver. The Tesla (and its dead driver) didn't decelerate and continued across two fields taking out a couple fence posts. Uber has also signed agreements with cities that protected Uber from having to share results of their tests, yet info from the public leaked out about some crazy incidents and at least one large American city through Uber out as a result.
