If you have to explain the meaning of a piece, it's not an art piece. Art should be self-explanatory and should invoke emotions in the people experiencing it. And to do that an artist has to have some skills and knowledge. Even photography as an art form requires understanding of composition, perspective and the process of photographing, developing and editing. Yes, before Photoshop people edited photographs, too. It was called "retouching"...
AI doesn't create art, it regurgitates existing images into new combinations. One could write a script that generates randomly colored shapes and thus create the sane images like that one painter that did squares and rectangles and called it art for some reason. AI generated images are the same type of slop as most of modern, so called "art". Most of that modern "art" takes no skill to make (anyone can tape a banana to the wall). At least writing a good prompt requires a bit of a skill, but still the AI is doing all the work by remixing random pieces. It's "will it blend?" version of art...
