They are protecting their own company, because IF AI-generated content is allowed to be monetized and run amok on YouTube, users may get bored with too much of it online and decrease their usage, or log off altogether. There are many YouTube comments left by users already expressing their dissatisfaction of the increasing AI-generated content. There is a place for AI, but overall, authentic human creativity and content offer viewers genuine experiences that many do like best and prefer over AI-generated.
