Jeff has simply figured out that he's redundant as far as today goes, and certainly as far as ML goes these days. However, he's right.... that you had best make sure your career is not one that will be easily replaced by ML models, and the soon to be here "AI".
Imagine, having the totality of human knowledge to learn from. Now imagine that knowledge being used to drive a model that will create new ideas, new research venues, new solutions to humanities pressing problems. Jeff is right about one thing. Neural networks will become smarter than us. They already have. He's wrong about who will control AI. Humans control ML, and we'll control AI. His "sky is falling" scenario, of AI controlling us, is false. We control the switch. Why can't he see that? Because he and those who interview him are living in some Hollywood movie dreamland.
The rest of the interview is all straw man arguments.
