Yes, Humans drive cars using vision so one might think that AI with vision could too. A this point history proves otherwise. Perhaps local AI systems will improve in the future to be as good, or hopefully better than Human driving skills. AI needs to be "conscious" with situational awareness and an innate "fear" of getting or causing injury. The AI hardware needs triple redundancy with 2/3 or 3/3 voting before every decision and action. Response rate of <300mS.
