AI still has not gone through the trough of disillusionment in the Gartner hype cycle. Is it going to be transformative? yes. Is it gonna be as transformative as most people think? Probably not for a very long time. This feels so much like the irrational exuberance of the late 90s and the DotCom bubble. I work in app development and with AI. It definitely has some amazing utility but also significant limitations. I find that many people's conception of AI is still closer to science fiction than science.
