Funny. I wrote a novel in 2015 that I published in 2020 that focuses on this very subject, and even has chapters with a joint Congressional hearing on AI; I'm betting this will play out just as I'd written it years ago. Those chapters not only reveal the stupidity of Congress's inaction, they cover a potential solution. Unfortunately, I'm a nobody, so few have read it, especially not members of Congress. However, if you're interested, just do a search for *"Loophole of the Gods"* <--- use the quotes or you'll never find it.
