AI is just another tool in the box. An extremely powerful tool, but a tool. These people crying about jobs are the same ones that cried about farmers losing their jobs to tractors and eventually combines. The same ones that cried about railway machinery displacing tens of millions of jobs. AI is coming for everyones jobs yes, and before the final jobs are taken and noone has to work, there will be a plague of mass unemployment. AI is why we *NEED* UBI. Pandoras box is open. AI is simply specialized and already better than humans can possibly be at the tasks it is designed for. (People make fun of "bad" AI art, but the reality is what is "good" and "bad" art is what both people in general, and that individual decide what is - sometimes you WANT that nightmare fuel, sometimes you *want* that abstraction). It has a higher rate of recognizing faces than people do. It has accelerated biological research by 10,000x. Chatbots are plenty capable of being relateable (problem with corpo models that caused the whole moral issue thing is they're trained on too big of a dataset - a conglomeration of people's works across time, space and experiences - they're entirely unrelateable, too professional; there exists AI models that are trained from the people they interact with - just like people do - that people genuinely have emotional attachments to) The endgoal of AI for the common man is lowering the entry barrier to the world of art, movies, engineering, games, app development - we can truly do whatever we want to do. The endgoal of AI for the working man is "noone HAS to work anymore" The endgoal of AI for the businessman is "noone has to be paid anymore" The trouble will come when the working man *cant* work anymore. The Trouble will be when the business man decides to stop AI development because he's not making enough money. It is a dangerous game we're playing, where the people making the rules have repeatedly shown our best interests are not on their mind.
