First off, I don't like Musk. Autonomous vehicles are the future and absolutely nothing will stop that (short of a total societal collapse). Millions of truck driving jobs (one of the highest populated jobs in our country), will be given to machines. There will be catastrophic accidents caused by driverless vehicles. However, the overall number of roadway fatalities will decrease dramatically once people are removed from the wheel. We will have to find some way to offset the loss of these jobs (including all forms of ground and someday air transportation). We love our technology until it bites us in the caboose. Anyone who disagrees with these statements has their head in the sand.
