In Dune (books), AI made humanity degenerate so much they had to forbid making a machine in the likeness of the human mind, thus the mentat school, bene gesserit school, spacing guild and so on.
In Asimov's universe, there was MULTIVAC, a hyperadvanced AI who ruled the entire word and made hunger, crime and wars disappear. You could ask it anything just like chatgpt.
