The person saying "I care as much about the artist's feelings as he does mine" isn't even accurate. You're clearly approaching this far more fairly and seeing things from different POV. You care way more about being kind than they do. But yeah... I agree, AI can be used as a helpful tool and it exists and clearly isn't going away but that doesn't mean people can take advantage of others just because the system is new and unregulated right now. The worst thing isn't just that they're doing it but that they are ENJOYING taking advantage of others. Their models wouldn't even be possible if they didn't build them off other artists work and they're not even integrating styles to create new ones.... like in your case they legit made "Sam bots"! Artists make awesome stuff, it's fair and wonderful you guys want to share your work. I love looking at art on insta. But the audacity of feeling entitled to it is just astounding to me. This lack of empathy is disgusting and scares me the most. This isn't just people misunderstanding the situation (sort of like how artists learn "how to trace" and how to use it for study and how NOT to just copy and claim it as your own), it's them simply not caring about other people because they want what they want and they want it now. They KNOW it's ethically wrong. They also know that no one can stop them, and they like that. Legit that one person said they felt like a god. It's absolutely sick. They have the tool to do whatever they want with it and even worse seem to enjoy the fact it hurts someone else as if it's a game to them. It's abhorrent behavior. Beyond a system of legal consequence, you are so right... we need a system of ethics and hope people can learn empathy and legit just how to be a decent human being jfc
