You guys remember 3D TVs? That's what this phase will be remembered as. According to a very recent MIT study, 95% of the corporations/businesses implementing AI fail to generate profit or measurable returns from doing so.
This won't be any different. Some clown in a suit is chasing a quarterly gain he won't actually see and has been hoodwinked by a company selling AI software/services.
Klarna did the same thing, and begrudgingly went back to humans this year because AI led to "lower quality."
This is a fad being forced by a society desperate for the next big thing because innovation has slowed. When these companies inevitably come crawling back to human labor like many have already, we should be wise enough to make them pay more for it.
