Dear Bernie,
You asked for my input. I have thought a great deal about how AI will affect our culture. So, here is my insight.
Ultimately, AI will cost people's jobs. We need to protect and plan for these displaced workers. We will need to retrain people for jobs that we cannot predict, and we need to pay them while they retrain. AI claims that it will make millionaires, but as we saw with blog and vlog platforms, the only ones who make money are the owners of the platforms. It will be the same with AI platforms. So, we need to tax the platforms for reeducating the people whom they displace. We need to offer these people free continuing college education.
