Let's be real for a moment. 75M have not been lost to AI, those have been lost to greed. The reality of the situation is that AI is still rather useless for the vast majority of jobs and at best it is being used as a production tool rather than a replacement. After all, without human intervention AI is useless, it can't act on its own accord. The problem is that AI is being used by corporations as an excuse to cut on staff after they over-hired during the pandemic, and the fact every economist of the planet is warning of an inevitable incoming recession that might begin at any moment, the trigger of which is probably going to be the impending burst of the AI bubble, which is artificially keeping the economy alive.
Then comes the realization that perhaps the idea is to precisely bomb the economy and impose the universal basic income to keep the average population poor and dependent on the government. Welcome to the new era of digital feudalism, where the oligarchy controls absolutely everything, including your livelihood.
