If all this was not so sick it would be funny:
Yes,the wealth-class elites are Hell-bend on building a AI infrastructure that will lead to greater and grater profits for themselves, yet, their own demise is also being built within these "profitability seeds"...HUH? Stick with me here:
OK, so AI replaces workers with robots. The more this expands the less human workers the big bosses will need, the more potential profits for their greedy bottom lines... yes, that is true.
Yet, it's all us workers bringing home all our pay checks that provide the $$$ for buying all the products robots make the big bosses want to sell us...without jobs for humans here will be no paychecks for humans...no incomes to buy all those products...robots don't need the gizmos, the toasters, the washing machines, the TVs, the "iPhones", and on and on.
Robots don't need flour, or hamburgers, or new underwear, or razor blades, or perfumes, or, or, or, or, or most anything you might find at those big box stores, especially the beers and wines, Robots are not "consumers!"
Robots don't need milk (cow, oat or otherwise), Robots don't need pizza (fresh baked from the pizzeria or frozen from "Safeway"). Robots don't need fresh, fresh frozen, or canned foods..and that includes beef, pork, chicken or fish too...robots might need a squirt of oil now and then, or a replacement part now and then, all of which will be made by other robots, but they don't need "sustenance" Bye bye farming, "goods" transportation industry
Robots taking-over manufacturing of goods, products, farm labor, cars & trucks manufacturing, whatever. This means the end of our "consumer society", and that means the end of places like Safeway (robots don't eat), Walmart (robots don't need most anything Walmart sells), COSTCO (robots don't use/need/want most anything COSTCO sells), and on and on and on. The end of a consumer society, will end sales of consumer society goods, which will end corporate profits, which will end the cash-flow the wealth-class is so So SO SO! addicted to.
Ending our jobs ends the needs for well over 90%, perhaps even 99% of everything mankind "produces, grows, or makes. Yes, that means the end of over 90% of "us" too. End ing the need for "us" effectively ends the "atmospheric river" of cash flowing into the wealth-class coffers...effectively ending the consumer ecology that sustains the wealth-class, fostering their own demise-extinction!
Paraphrasing a Cree Nation (Naive America) saying: “Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish been caught, and the last stream poisoned, the last migrant farm worker rounded-up and deported to whogivesafuckland will the Steven Millers and the wealth-class realize they cannot eat money.”
But, hey!, none of that is on "corporate's" next quarterly financial statement...party till the end, right! Just as the ancient Romans watched Rome burn while Nero played his fiddle, I think our grandkids will be watching this latest version of civilization "burn" as the wealth-class continues to drool over their robots.
IMHO
