I think a problem with AI art and its perception is:
Character vs Aesthetics
Most people like Aesthetics, things to look smooth, detailed, not "abrasive" to the eyes. Its eye-candy, that doesnt offend the viewer.
Character i would describe more like the "soul" of the art, something can have a big impact on people, can communicate ideas, concepts, perspectives without "any" aesthetics
An image by a person is often a combination of both, communicating about their way they look at live.
AI Images are only Aesthetics, only busy with how something looks, not with what is there and what it illicits.
AI Images are therefore like pure sugar with nothing to it, its a quick high, that wears off at the same time and many would pursue AI Image generation to chase that high and keep defending it.
Whereas those images lack any kind of Character/Intention, making it a beautifully looking meal that tastes like nothing and offers no nurishment.
AI Art is like drinking distilled water, it only makes you thirstier for the real thing!
