Damn I was with you until the Jackson Pollock section. I think the thing to note is that there a different types of art with different objectives. It doesn’t make sense to compare a Pollock to an illustrator or vis dev artist working in animation. Pollock requires a lot of context to understand what he was doing and why it was relevant at the time. He’s so easy to dismiss because “it’s just random paint splatter” but really it’s not.. it’s more philosophical than that and there was a very specific method in how he made his paintings that you can see throughout his body of work. His work is also literally a response to the aftermath of WW2. Pollock wasn’t trying to entertain you or impress with academic skillset.. he was speaking to his own humanity and the world he existed in. Of course I’m not saying you have to like his work, but I think your point about how any artist worth their salt wouldn’t like him is just off. I’m not saying he’s my favorite by far, but I do respect what he did and the more I learned about him the more I grew to appreciate his work. I like a lot of visual art.. in fact I’d say I’m pretty obsessed with most of it. I love fine art, animation, video games, illustration, and more. There’s a lot to learn from everyone and we don’t need to knock certain artists down just to make a point. The thing AI bros get wrong is conflating different genres of art with each other thinking they’re one and the same. Every type of art has their own audience, but Ai bros don’t realize that. They see the corruption of the fine art market with dumb shit like “the comedian” (banana taped to the wall) and go “see! Anything can be considered art!! >~<“ but that’s just so off and again misses context. That artist was trying to make money off his collector base.. he already was famous for things he did in the past that were a lot more impressive. Anyway ok I still need to finish watching your video so I’ll stop here
