Stephen Hawking held a party for time travelers on June 28, 2009, at the University of Cambridge. The unique aspect of the event was that the invitations were sent out only after the party had already taken place. This was Hawking’s way of testing whether time travelers—if they existed—would show up by traveling back in time.
Perhaps no one came because time travel was never invented—maybe AI wiped us out before we had the chance to develop the technology.
