Im an amateur wildlife photographer, and boy, a.i bros misunderstand it so much... I can tell photos from my favourite artists apart just by looking at them! Photography is about capturing real life through your lens, and people REALLY underestimate how much of that lens is present, even fellow artists from other artforms! Your composing, perspective, editing, framing, light usage... how much warmth, mystery, you like in your photos get ingrained in your work without you even noticing, EVEN when photographing subjects that often will give you only seconds to register then at a time! How can you call an A.I image self expression when there's not an ounce of personal style?? Even if you only do certain themes, these are just subjects... You wont develop your vision, theres is no expression besides "I thought this could be cool". And of course thats not to mention the astounding hours of work and patience that requires finding the animals, setting up nd choosing your shooting location, editing, learning how to operate your camera to the fullest (youll never stop learning that).... But thats honestly besides the point, its not just about the effort. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED, look up TROND WETSBY and then MORTEN HILMER pictures, see a few and youll start noticing their unique style and vision, even when capturing the same animals like musk ox. You can also look at my work (@insta_do_chico on instagram). Morten is a master on putting magic in real life scenarios, his images look like something from a fantasy world sometimes. Trond is very different, portraying his animals very squarely, in detail, the background being less of the composition... and his images are beautiful too! I also like my photos, I enjoy mainly movement and getting a glimpse of the animal's true vibes and behaviours. I've got some bangers, but I cant compare to these two, I aint even being humble.
