When we figure out what intelligence is and how to recreate it, that's the technological singularity. When that happens, if a self-actualized algorithm wants us dead, we wouldn't know anything about it until it was to late. It would use its own language and would improve in ways that we couldn't comprehend. Basically, we wouldn't know the mind of God and only God could decide it's fate as well as *maybe* ours.
No one knows the outcome of something like this, but I can tell you that with so much aggressive research going on in robotics and neuroscience, it's only a matter of time until we hit that breakthrough.
