The problem is if the AI solves humanities problems that the people that own these AIs ultimately are still in control and wont use the solution because the solution would be to absolve their authority and make the peoples lives better. Ultimatly the machines will be tweeked not to solve humanities problems but the people that are in controls problem of what to do with the rest of the humans.
