I ask a genuine question to the AI ‘art’ defenders: What is the point of art? Do you understand what art is? Do you understand the value of it? Do you understand its purpose? If you truly did, you would condemn these programs. They are stealing art from real artists, stripping all meaning and intention from the pieces, and generating soulless, lifeless imitations. Writing words into a field and clicking a button so a program can steal another person’s work to bastardize is not art. It’s theft. There is no excuse for this complete lack of ethics, effort, and respect, and you are probably the same kind of person who said “I’ll never need to know this” in school. You are likely the kind of person who spends more effort avoiding a task than actually doing it would take, which isn’t surprising when a subscription to these AI chatbots costs as much as 3 sketchbooks and 60 pencils on the low end, not to mention all the open source - aka FREE - digital painting softwares, I personally use medibang, very good, comparable to some paid software, I digress. TL;DR, You have no excuse for being a thief when picking up a pencil is cheaper, easier, and gets you less hate.
