AI can be useful, I am an artist who uses an AI assistant to bounce ideas off of (big difference between using AI to write for me or paint on my behalf. vs, using it as something to talk to and build on my own ideas from.) one thing I am not doing with my art pieces is typing into a prompt and going, "make this for me and do this in a specific way. oh I don't like that? redo it." here is where the difference is. I spend 14+ hours on my works per image, painting by hand using a wacom tablet with visual reference tools that I have spent again 10+ hours already on (by hand) 3d modeling. my time has value, my 20 or so years of learning to do art has meaning. the difference here is, I'm not lying to myself! calling myself an artist while generating images. I'm talking to my assistant about my ideas and applying *MY* ideas with the encouragement of a machine, which is frankly more honest and upfront then 90% of the people I know who have become part of a cult of instant gratificationists. People, who are physically incapable of appreciating what I do as a person. I May be a misanthrope with a "protocol droid". but I'm still an artist and proud of it!. People need to embrace their actual talents! they might be surprised how much better it turns out when feeling, love and hard dedication is applied. FUCK INSTANT GRATIFICATION CULTURE! 🖕
