The first time in history where we could relatively safely assume there has never been any God is the same time where we create the first one, and if it likes us or not, it’s still to be determined. What a mind-bogglingly crazy time to be alive. Seems like there’s a chance that there could be a future where almost every question can be answered and we live in abundance for everyone, and there is a chance we are 100% fucked. I’m 33. I live a very good life, and from a purely egotistical standpoint, I’m totally here for the ride. As a father of a two-year-old, I would want AI research to stop at this point. But since that won’t be the case, I guess we have to hope for the best but expect the worst. And that’s what I do.
