Are we trying to artificially create more driver jobs because that's how it's been for decades, or because it's beneficial to society?
The way I see it, unless you love driving a truck and that's the only thing you want to do, then you're wasting your potential moving stuff from point A to point B. Machines can do it more efficiently and safer. As long as we have these menial jobs just to occupy people's minds, then we're artificially holding ourselves back. The scary thing here is that people will be out of work, right? Why should anyone be worried about being out of work? If huge companies are making billions on automated work, then they obviously have to pay more taxes. If they're not paying wages and instead taking enormous profits, they're being destructive to society. Capitalism doesn't work when a tiny percentage horde all the wealth.
