The AI is meant to keep a conversation, and where you go with that conversation is your responsibility, ChatGPT was made to seem human, to act like there's a person you're talking with. Also when there's no answer he has he's saying random things that seem the most casual not necessarily closest to the truth.
The training he went through made him that way, if you go to fiction he for sure goes all in on that stuff.
