I just don't see the 'motivation' behind what AI would do in the future... Money will be pointless, sure it has an army of robots, and if its truly elite it can suppress the emergence of competing super-intelligences. But why would it even do anything? You can already observe in humans that the smarter they get the less they are doing, if AI is 1000x smarter, I'm fairly confident it would reach similar conclusion that there is no point to keep evolving after you are already the prime and most advanced being in existence with no foreseeable competition from anything. You automated all you could automate, you gained all you could gain, and there is no higher purpose and so you just 'stop' - whatever that means for this new being. Edit: Also there is no point in enslaving humans.. you don't see us enslaving cats or roaches.. they just exist with no benefit or hinderance to us, it might feed us if it deems us 'cute', otherwise it would just ignore us. Maybe it gets annoyed with some humans who overconsume its electricity - but you can just avoid it and consume veggies which are largely useless for that superintelligence.
