This will only benefit billionaires in the short term. Think about it, AI replaces jobs at a mass scale. Businesses immediately cut jobs and save money but most people immediately lose income. Overtime profits for businesses slump because who is booking a holiday to Jamaica? Who is buying the new iPhone? The new Tesla? Who is buying the next PlayStation? Nike Trainers? No one. It will have a ripple effect. This is greed blinding the obvious. There are 2 sides here, yes jobs will go they already are and no we won’t be able to keep up. However everything else will also go. When you have no money to spend, the only thing you’ll prioritise is food and shelter. The only way to prevent this is either by completely redesigning the economy so that it works in a way no one has yet imagined or strict legislations.
A slightly drop in the economy leads to recession and high streets crashing so imagine what this will do.
